Local Friends Volunteers
Our volunteers are not care givers. They give companionship and genuine friendship to some very lonely people. As with anyone who works with the vulnerable in our community, they have a huge responsibility and what they achieve is priceless. We are so proud of them and we will do our best to ensure every volunteer always feels supported and valued.
For some of our older friends, their loneliness can be compounded by the loss of a beloved pet. We are fortunate indeed, to have several volunteers who are happy to have their very sociable dogs co-opted as ‘special volunteers’ who, while getting spoilt themselves, bring a lot of furry joy into someone’s day.
