Become a Local Friends Volunteer

If you are interested in becoming a Local Friends volunteer, just use the form on the Contact Us page and one of our coordinators will get in touch with you and have a chat. This is usually quickly followed by having a face-to-face meeting over a cuppa!
Before being matched with an older friend, coordinators will fully explain the organisation, the ‘job’, and get all the necessary privacy and confidentiality documents signed. They will also help with the application for your police clearance.
Although we take great care in matching up our volunteers with older friends, taking into account aspects such as interests and hobbies, we’re not always successful first time around; sometimes the chemistry isn’t quite right. And that’s quite OK. There will be someone else who will prove to be the perfect match.
